"While you're sittin' on your tail, someone, somewhere is practicing. And when they meet up with you, THEY'LL WIN!" - Rev. Run from RunDMC
Ok, so clearly I need to post mine earlier in the day to give everyone a morning boost! I have to say, I could've used one myself this morning. I did get up to go to the gym this morning, but it was definitely a struggle, which isn't supposed to happen on day TWO of a new workout regime! Isn't the excitement supposed to last for at least five days or something!?
Anyway, I didn't get enough sleep last night. Which as we all know, is a key ingredient to losing weight and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Another main ingredient is water. (No, Kristen, you cannot live on sleep and water alone.) Any health & wellness article talks about the importance of getting 7-8 hours of sleep to allow your body to recuperate from the day, especially if you're exercising, and to drink 64 ounces of water. 64 ounces of water sounds like A LOT to me, but fill your Poland Springs sports bottle 3x, and you're golden :) (Yikes, I sound like Bob from the Biggest Loser! I promise to keep the product placements at a minimum.)
Also, wanted to post a new recipe today that I tried last night. Alden didn't tell me it was too dry, so it must've been a success. Feel free to give it a whirl - and if you do, definitely let us know if you did anything differently with it. I recommend Jennie-O chicken, Grey Poupon mustard and Pastene Balsamic Vinegar. Kidding! ;)

So, make sure you're drinking enough water, and getting to bed early :) Let us know how Day 2 is going for you!

6-7 hours of sleep?! I WISH! hahaha.. I can't help but laugh when I think of the fact that I was up at 11, 1:30, 4, 6, and 8 am. No joke. I did 2 workouts yesterday, so today I have to take the day (so sad about it, but it's just me and Eloise tonight, no daddy, so I can't get out there on my own to run). I will try very hard to get out there for a walk with her, but it looks like it's going to rain.
ReplyDeleteI also have a good recipe! It's so easy, and pretty healthy if you use wheat bread. I slice up some havarti cheese, tomatoes, and avocados, put some honey mustard on the bread, add the slices and a sandwich pickle, and voila - a yummy healthy sandwich. Oh, I also use slices of vegetarian bacon (it really IS good- I promise!). Mm... that's my dinner tonight since I'm all alone.
Listen... I survived on only liquid for 30 hours this past weekend... don't tell ME it can't be done LOL. So last night's run was kinda rough but I'm SUPER grateful for the nice weather. It's definitely helping. Tonight I have Zumba class, which I LOVE.
ReplyDeleteIf you can find one in your area, it's incredible. You don't notice the 45 minutes pass at all because you're just constantly moving!
YAY Day 2!
Yeah, Zumba is GREAT. Unless dancing is the bane of your existance! Grrr...
ReplyDeletebut Colie... you have all those choreographed routines already!! hahahahahahahaha
ReplyDeleteI have never done Zumba, but the latin girls here in Florida swear by it!
ReplyDeleteI swam for 45 minutes today and then took a 3 mile bike ride with Ben. Neither were a struggle, cause I love them both! Tomorrow is my long run day, with Sally (trainer) yelling at me to do it faster. Please pray for me :)
I don't know how many people are incorporating a strict diet with their new exercise, but if anyone needs tips, just ask. I am a seasoned verteran of the diet thing, I am on 57 lbs gone and still going!
Have fun on Day 3!!!
